Co-founder

Dating in the City is facilitated by Jessica Erickson, LCSW, co-founder of Sana Psychotherapy and a therapist specializing in women’s mental health, relationships, and major life transitions.

Jessica has extensive experience supporting women as they navigate dating and relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship patterns, changing priorities, and questions around partnership, marriage, fertility, and future family-building.

At Sana Psychotherapy, we believe dating and relationships can bring up some of our most meaningful questions about who we are, what we want, and how we connect with others. Dating in the City creates space to explore those questions with professional support and meaningful connection with other women navigating similar experiences.

Jessica facilitates the full 8-week series, allowing for consistency and connection throughout the group.

Support for Dating in the City

Dating in New York City can be exciting, hopeful, exhausting, confusing, and sometimes all of those things at once. Between dating apps, seemingly endless options, ambiguous relationships, and the pressure to find the “right” person, it can be difficult to stay connected to yourself and what you actually want.

Dating can also bring deeper questions to the surface: Why do I keep finding myself in similar relationship patterns? How do I know when to give someone a chance or walk away? Am I asking for too much, or settling for too little? How do I stay open and vulnerable without losing myself in the process? And for women thinking about partnership, marriage, or having children, dating can carry an added sense of pressure around time and the future.

Dating in the City offers a space to step outside the cycle of swiping, analyzing, and second-guessing and talk honestly about what dating is bringing up for you. Each session combines psychoeducation, guided discussion, reflection, and peer support in a confidential and welcoming environment, with the goal of helping you feel more grounded, connected, and confident in how you approach dating and relationships.
